OotP movie LOL, crossposting by hand...
I saw the OotP movie at last yesterday with </a></strong></a>

ishtar79. I totally loved it, tight, great direction, the script wasn't half bad and the kiddies didn't suck too much, not even Watson, really. I just LOVE the Luna Lovegood girl. I know that people think she overacted or she did't work for them but this girl has true charisma and I'd love to see her in something else too. She totally IS Luna to me.
Rickman still sucks so badly he ruins every scene he's in. But teenage Severus from the film was simply adorkable for the little we saw of him. (Ishtar pointed out that he's still in my interests in this LJ which is just... must remove him AT ONCE). Snape's part keeps getting smaller but it's Rickman and I don't really care. I was thinking they might cut him out altogether from HBP but he does have to kill Dumbledore. I can just imagine Rickman saying that "Avada Kedavra" at about the speed he said "Expelliarmus" in CoS... Gambon will be begging him in character just to be done with it.
I hate Rickman. Hate him!! Why won't he retire?
Incidentally, about Snape, I was talking to a person who has only seen the movies and she noted how nice it was of Snape to tell Harry that Cho had betrayed him under Veritaserum. I rest my case! SNAPE ISN"T NICE!!!
Oldman is great but his Sirius was a bit too sane. I understand the need because we wouldn't really be able to feel Harry's pain if his godfather had been this manic, childish guy.
Holy continuity, Batman, it's the same Dudley and he really did grow up into a big D, loved it! Just loved the Dementors and everything to do in the first sequence. It was interesting to see Harry doing wizard stuff in a Muggle setting.
The thestrals were the cutest thing ever, I totally want one of my own now!
WTF, Draco was basically a cameo in this film.
Umbridge... I have no words. Imelda Staunton is easily the best adult actor in the series, she completely blew me away. I had objected at first because I didn't find her toadish enough, I totally wanted Kathy Burke but Staunton completely nailed it. That lines writing scene was so creepy I couldn't believe it.
Lucius should come with a warning, there were times I would literally forget to breathe when he was on.
Bonham Carter as Bellatrix was meh. Physically she wasn't my Bellatrix and I didn't like that she looked scared when Harry tried to crucio her. But I liked the baby talking and the Bride of Frankenstein getup.
In all it was very well done and I'm glad that Yates will be doing HBP too.
At the cinema I had to wonder why I always get the kickers. At Transformers I had a very ugly, fat couple behind me practically going at it right there and kicking my seat all the time. And in OotP I had a girl who put her BARE STINKING FEET at the top of my seat, behind my head and she expected me to be OK with that. I turned and told her "Feet, down. NOW!" Then at some point during the movie I smelt feet again and it turns out she had a foot on the seat next to mine. I turned and yelled at her again and she said it wasn't on my seat and I said it was stinky. Not loudly enough. But she had no shame, i couldn't believe it!
